Hi there! I’m Camille, the busy mom, full-time worker, and passionate home cook behind Camille’s Comforting Cuisine. If you’ve found yourself here, welcome! This is a space where a little creativity, a lot of flavor, and the magic of homemade meals come together to sprinkle some joy into your kitchen.
I grew up in a Jamaican household where every dish told a story—whether it was a pot of curry chicken simmering in a Dutch oven or Sunday dinners overflowing with bold, layered flavors. Food was never just about eating; it was about connection, love, and heritage. These values are the heart of my cooking today as a mom, wife, and storyteller.
A Little About Me
Other than being a mom—and all the chaos that entails (think boo-boo buster, playmate, routine stabilizer, and stuffed animal catcher)—I’m also a full-time analyst. My day job involves turning Excel spreadsheets inside out, a task as meticulous as it sounds!
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s in Organizational Policy, and for a long time, I chased the dream of climbing the corporate ladder. I woke up every day with the vision of making it to the top of somebody else’s company—and becoming a mother only made me want that stability more.
But as I watch my daughter grow right before my eyes, I’ve come to realize something: As long as I work for someone else, my time is not my own. If I don’t own my time, I can’t freely dictate what I do with it—which means I can’t be with my daughter whenever I want. And that? I’m not okay with.
First, I tried branching out as a signing agent for real estate loans. It started off fun, but… well, COVID happened. Need I say more?
So here I am now, pouring my heart into this blog. I want to share my love for cooking, my favorite recipes, and my life experiences, hoping to inspire others to savor the beauty of homemade meals and take small steps toward claiming their own time.
Why This Blog?
Life is busy, messy, and sometimes downright chaotic. Cooking doesn’t have to be perfect—it just needs to bring a little comfort to the table. That’s why I started Camille’s Comforting Cuisine: to share recipes that make your life easier, your meals tastier, and your family a little closer, one bite at a time.
This blog is about more than recipes. It’s about moments: the laughter over a well-loved dish, the comfort of a hearty meal after a long day, and the joy of discovering a new family favorite.
